instructions for loading simple programs - always seek advice from IT before loading
1.Winzip
1 - Click on this link or type the following into browser http://www.winzip.com/downhome.htm
2 - Choose 'Download WinZip 8.0 for Windows 95/98/NT/2000/Me'
3 - Choose 'save program to disk', it will prompt you to save it to the c:drive; agree to this
4 - Follow on screen instructions... when complete, close folders - there should automatically be a an icon created on your computer desktop
5 - Remember this is an evaluation version, it may be missing some features - the full version costs money - contact procurement for more information on purchasing
2. Adobe Acrobat Reader(.Pdf files)
(Acrobat can be downloaded from the trust intranet homepage)
1 - go to the homepage & click on the the letter 'a' on the left hand side
2 - the fourth item on the dropdown list is 'adobe acrobat', point and click on this
3 - point & click on the 'get acrobat reader' icon on the top left
4 - choose 'save this program to disk', click save (make sure it is being saved to the c:/ drive)
5 - when prompted with 'download complete' message click close
6 - go the c:/ drive of the computer via 'My Computer' (where you saved the file)
7 - double click on file called 'rs405eng' to unpack software
8 - click 'next' twice when prompted
9 - message appears stating files have been successfully installed
application should automatically open .pdf attachments
3. Sophos Anti-Virus
The
following instructions describe the procedure for installation of Sophos
anti-virus software on Windows 2000 PCs, with automatic updates
This
procedure should be followed when installing any new PC, or when re-installing
Operating System
1.
On the target PC,

Accept defaults by clicking 'Next'
3. Check box for 'Intercheck Client'
4. Check box for 'Autoupdate'
5. Ensure Check
box for 'Prevent Removal' is ticked, 'Next'
6. Complete
Update Account as follows:

Account Name:
sophosupd
Password:
sophosupd
Confirm password:
sophosupd
7. Accept defaults by clicking 'Next' until
'Finish' is displayed
8. Sophos will now install & on
completion will ask you to confirm that you wish to run it immediately
